Dr. Rachel Leidner specializes in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry in Dallas, Texas. She strives to use a personalized approach when it comes to her patients. Dr. Leidner graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a B.S. in Nutritional Science. She was studying to be a dietitian when she decided that she wanted to pursue medicine. She attended the University of Texas Medical Branch where she earned her medical degree. From there she moved to Charleston, South Carolina where she underwent residency training at the Medical University of South Carolina. Upon completion of her residency, she moved home to Dallas to pursue a specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at UT Southwestern where she also served as chief resident.

Armed with years of experience, she is now considered an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of various conditions such as developmental concerns in children, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, eating disorders, behavioral difficulties, learning disorders, attention deficit disorder (ADD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), substance abuse/recovery, psychosis, and schizophrenia.

When it comes to diagnosis, assessment, evaluation and treatment, Dr. Leidner believes that these should vary depending on a person’s needs. Her comprehensive approach has always been guided by her respect of individuality and uniqueness.

Dr. Leidner is board certified in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry.


Dr. Rachel Leidner’s mission is to be able to provide excellent mental health care for children, adolescents and adults who are experiencing emotional and behavioral difficulties. With an individualized and evidence-based approach, the goal is to deliver proper support, treatment and guidance that will aid in a successful recovery.
